About the catalog and official sources

Official source checks

Check the official destination before installation. Any checksum or signature information must come from the provider or your own device checks; this catalog does not certify external installers.

SHA-256

If the official provider publishes a SHA-256 for the exact installer, compare it with your downloaded file. This catalog does not supply a reference hash for external installers. A matching hash confirms that the bytes match the published reference; it does not establish licensing, compatibility or safety by itself.

On Windows, open PowerShell and run the command Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 -LiteralPath 'C:/Downloads/file.exe', substituting the path to your file. Compare all 64 characters only with a checksum published by the official provider for that exact file.

Digital signature

Check the publisher signature of the installer you receive from the official source using the operating system's verification tools. A signed component inside an archive does not mean the entire outer archive is signed. This catalog does not claim to have performed those checks for you.

This catalog does not assemble or distribute offline ZIP packages. For managed deployments, follow Microsoft's official deployment documentation and obtain the tools and installation files through the documented Microsoft channel.

Scope of verification

Checking hashes and signatures does not replace antivirus scanning, certificate revocation checks or installation testing. The catalog does not claim antivirus scan results for these files. Do not disable built-in protection to install them; stop and check the file if a warning appears.

If the file does not match

Do not run a file with a mismatched checksum. Check that the download finished, download it again from the same page, and compare the hash. In your inquiry, it is enough to include the option, date, size, and calculated checksum.

Questions and answers

How do I check an installer from the official provider?

Use the official source and any reference checksum it publishes. — Confirm that the destination is Microsoft or the authorized app store. If the provider publishes a SHA-256 for the exact file, use Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 in PowerShell and compare all 64 characters.

Does this catalog assemble or certify installer archives?

The official provider supplies the software. — No. This catalog links to official installation sources and does not host, assemble or certify software packages. Use Microsoft’s documented tools for managed deployments.

Does a matching checksum establish that an installer is safe?

A checksum answers only a limited integrity question. — A matching checksum establishes that the bytes match the reference. It does not establish licensing, compatibility or safety, and does not replace operating-system protections.

What if a file differs from the official provider’s checksum?

Stop installation until the mismatch is resolved. — Do not run it. Check that the download completed and that the reference belongs to that exact file, then obtain it again from the official source.

Has this catalog scanned or tested the installer?

Source-link information is not a binary security certificate. — The catalog does not claim binary signature verification, antivirus scanning or installation testing for external files. Read the provider’s information and use your device’s protection tools.
