COMPATIBILITY
The requirements of different generations of Office vary. For numerical parameters and supported system versions, see the page of the selected product.
FEATURES
Use styles, tables and tables of contents for reports and guides. Desktop Word provides tools for detailed formatting of long documents.
In Excel 2016 and later Windows releases, use built-in Power Query to load and clean data before calculations.
Build slides and add illustrations, transitions, and animations. The desktop app lets you fine-tune the sequence and appearance of your presentation.
Set email sorting rules and quick steps in classic Outlook. Repetitive email tasks then require fewer manual steps.
Create related tables, data entry forms and reports in Access. This tool is suitable for standalone record-keeping databases on a Windows computer.
Keep notes, images and to-do lists in notebooks. Organize materials by topic to find the information you need more quickly.
Use Files On-Demand: documents remain visible in File Explorer but can stay in the cloud until first opened.
When supported documents are stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, return to previous versions. This helps restore the result from before an unwanted edit.
HELP CENTER
Enabled downloads lead directly to verified installer files. — Use an enabled Download button for Windows to retrieve the matching English installer directly from the official publisher. Check the selected product and license before installation. Account, store and guide pages are not offered as downloads.
Access and activation are determined by Microsoft and your existing entitlement. — Use the Microsoft account, work or school account, subscription or perpetual license that covers the selected product and edition. Downloading an installer or opening a guide does not grant a license.
First identify your license type. — A one-time-purchase Office release and Microsoft 365 have different usage rights. Check the full package name in the Windows list before downloading.
Use the installation path for your actual device and license. — Check the official system requirements, platform, edition and architecture before installation. On Windows, confirm compatibility with existing Office apps and add-ins. Windows installation media cannot be installed on macOS or mobile devices.
See the requirements for the specific option. — The minimum operating system may differ by year and build. Before downloading, compare the file requirements with the Windows version on your computer.
